I have no idea where this is going, if anywhere...
“Hey, come and have a look at this.”
Parked just below the apartment window, Tracks smiled to himself. “Honestly Raoul. How, exactly, do you think I’m going to be able to see whatever it is you’re getting excited over?”
He heard an exasperated sigh coming from the direction of the window.
“I know you’re comfortable n’all, but have you ever considered that just maybe you can look through the window?”
Raoul turned toward the small window of the what seemed almost as small apartment to see Tracks already stood there, his face holding a look of mild amusement. “What? You never seen a guy get a lucky find before?”
Tracks looked at the object in Raoul’s hands. “Not considering finding a small flat square made of paper and board lucky, no.”
“Well you’ve been hanging with the wrong guys, then.” Raoul raised the ‘flat square’ and removed the black vinyl disc from within it eyeing it appraisingly. “This, is probably the luckiest find ever, man. On this are some of the coolest tunes you’ll ever hear.”
“I would have thought that would be determined by a matter of taste, Raoul.”
Raoul shrugged and walked over to the record player. “It’s my taste that’s doin’ the determining. And before you say anything, I don’t need a lecture on my grammar.”
Tracks shut his mouth before his vocaliser could form the words. “I was just going to say that whilst I wouldn’t question your; albeit unorthodox, methods as a mechanic. Your taste in music is at times quite questionable.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Raoul placed the needle on the record. “Tracks. Less complaining and more listening, man.”
